The Student Program Big Trio
Digital empowerment is here to stay and new generations give it for granted. Social Mining has emerged as a revolutionary force and a steady income possibility, offering individuals a way to harness their skills, connect with crypto project communities and pave the way for personal and professional growth.
To have an upper hand and provide the right tools, the DAO Labs organized, alongside its local Filipino Team, the Social Mining Student Program to present, prepare and give the younger generations an introduction and guidelines to get pocket money and understand that they can get benefits from their Social Media activity.
One School for Social Miners
Social Mining has been embraced in the Aurora National High School, from Zamboanga City in Philippines, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by their authorities and the enthusiastic support of Ms Karen Jane A. Ople, our dedicated teacher. The principal of their school has given approval for the inclusion of Social Mining activities in the school curriculum, acknowledging its ability to cultivate digital skills, promote community involvement and foster entrepreneurial mindset among students. This document marks a significant advancement in the adoption of progressive educational methods and underscores the proactive stance of the school leadership in equipping students for the digital era's demands and prospects.
At the Social Miner of the Hour, we had the privilege to engage in a conversation with three remarkable student miners, a bright example of this program’s results, shedding light on their experiences, challenges, and triumphs within the realm of Social Mining.
We witness the lives of Daoversians Aliah (alia_yellow), Vebry (vry_lle), and Carl (jclvll), students from this cited Zamboagan city, who have embraced Social Mining as a pathway to empowerment and enrichment. Their journey exemplifies the transformative power of education, dedication, and community engagement.
A Glimpse into Student Miners' Lives
This trio comes from the Aurora National High School in Zamboanga City and they have seamlessly integrated Social Mining into their academic pursuits. Despite initial challenges, these students have found a sense of fulfilment and growth through their involvement in Social Mining.
‘’Social Mining is a game-changer for my life as a student, It's seriously upped my editing skills”, said Aliah. “School projects are way easier now, and I've learned it's not just about getting things done, it's about putting in the effort to make them the best they can be. Plus, Social Mining totally helped with my communication skills since I’ve experienced random people asking me for help, and that's definitely forced me to get better at explaining things to others. Social Mining even showed me the power of getting things done early – no more last-minute cramming for me! Basically, Social Mining gave me skills, a better attitude, and a whole new way of thinking”.
Vebry hinted this: ‘’Being both a student and a Social Miner has got me really excited for many reasons. It's not just about improving my skills; it's about discovering amazing opportunities and things that really grab my attention. This combination is opening up new doors and sparking my interest in ways I hadn't imagined. And like I said before, it's also helping me manage my time better, so I can do even more. Being in this community made a big difference.’’
Keeping work and study balanced
Balancing the demands of academia with the responsibilities of Social Mining posed initial challenges for the student miners. However, over time, they developed effective strategies to manage their schedules and excel in both domains. Their dedication to learning and contribution to the Social Mining community reflect their resilience and commitment to personal and professional growth.
Carl said “I've been actively involved in various tasks that align with my academic interests, such as editing tasks. These tasks have helped me improve my skills in creating better-looking presentations and documents, which directly benefits my academic performance. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to collaborate with different people and enhance my communication and teamwork skills. It's been a rewarding experience overall, contributing to the community while also advancing my academic abilities”.
