In the latest episode of the Social Miner of the Hour, we had the pleasure of interviewing @Ojed, Ojedapo Timileyin D, a Nigerian graduate of Accounting, fish farmer, as well as crypto enthusiast. Ojed shared his experiences and insights into the world of Social Mining, highlighting the benefits, motivation, and advice for newcomers to the platform.

Ojedapo's journey is a witness to the diverse interests and opportunities presented by the digital age. Despite his seemingly disparate passions, Ojed found the way to combine traditional agriculture with innovative technological approaches. As a matter of fact, he’s not only a fish farmer in life, but he’s also a Social Miner, which gives him the possibility to build an important side hustle. 

‍“I’ve had interest in crypto right from my University days - tell us Ojed - and I came into crypto in the year 2020. I could remember vividly I used the money I got from my industrial training to buy ETH then from a local crypto exchange but later got hacked that year, I rested for a while and resumed back mid 2021. I became a web3 worker fully in early 2022 and a fish farmer late 2022.”

Ojedapo's introduction to Social Mining came through his involvement in a community as an ambassador. It was there that he crossed paths with @adeshilemi1, already a Social Miner, who introduced him to DAOVERSE in September last year, where today he plays the role of marketer. Ojed recalls this as a turning point, where his Social Mining journey began and opened new doors of opportunity.

‍“The benefits attached to Social Mining - continues Ojed - are incomparable in the sense that I can be a social miner anywhere and still earn as much as I'm able to complete all the tasks available. I don’t need to go out of my doorstep before earning.”

From Ojedapo's perspective, Social Mining offers several benefits compared to traditional work. The ability to earn rewards from anywhere, as long as the assigned tasks are completed, provides flexibility, cost savings and financial stability. The absence of physical constraints means that Social Miners can work from the comfort of their own homes, literally from everywhere, eliminating the need for commuting or restrictive working hours.

‍“What motivates me to be consistent - says Ojed - is that the DAO Labs team itself is consistent and accurate with their promises and this way it’s kind of easy for me to be a social miner, unlike 8-5pm work which sometimes, despite the hard work, won't get the deserved rewards.” 

Ojed did a very good job since he started the journey with Social Mining, he’s in fact among the top 10 hubbers on Kava, and DAOVERSE, as illustrated in the graphic below.

We asked him what he would suggest to users who approach Social Mining for the first time and his response has to do with perseverance, and commitment. 

‍“My candid advice for newcomers - he says - is to continue practising, trying to always do a good job and improve on it, because that really works for me and I think it can work for them too.”

Through his contributions, Ojed has not only established his expertise but has also built a reputation as a reliable and respected member of the community.
