Jonna Mae Sarabia was first introduced to the concept of Social Mining by her sister-in-law Caren. Her initial reaction was one of surprise, earning an income from home through social connections and community engagement was a brand-new idea
“At first, I was curious and maybe a little unsure about how it all worked, but the more I learned about it, the more it made sense. I realized it could be a perfect fit for a full-time housewife like me, allowing me to contribute financially while still being home with my kids”, Jonna recalls.
“Exploring new ways to earn through something like social mining is impressive!”, she adds.
For Jonna, Social Mining became a perfect blend of personal growth, skill-building, and the chance to support her family without needing to step away from her role as a full-time mother.

“This experience motivated me to develop new skills I hadn’t considered before. I’m excited to keep learning while staying present with my kids,” And, Social mining has given me not only financial support but also a renewed sense of purpose and growth as both a mother, student and a provider. Jonna shares.

Finding a New Passion in Video Creation
Initially unfamiliar with video creation, Jonna began her journey by watching tutorials and experimenting with editing. Step by step, she improved her skills, finding a new passion and even a personal style.
“I began by watching tutorials and experimenting with simple tools to create my first few videos. It was a learning process, and I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but with each attempt, I improved a little more.”
“As I continued, I started to get more comfortable with editing and adding effects, I also found my own style in how I present my ideas. The process was challenging but also really rewarding to see myself improve”, Jonna explains.
Now, creating videos has become an enjoyable task and a means to connect with the community.
Achievements and Motivation to Grow
One of her proudest moments was earning reputation points for her work in creating memes and videos for KAVA Hub and on DAOVERSE.
“I wasn’t sure how my work would be received, but seeing the positive feedback and earning those points was amazing! It showed me that small contributions can make a big impact” she says.

As a proud Ninja Miner, Jonna has set a remarkable example for aspiring social miners. Reflecting on her journey, she shares some advice for those looking to follow in her footsteps.
“The key to success in social mining is consistency, creativity, and a willingness to learn,” Jonna explains.
She also emphasises the importance of experimentation and staying open to new ideas. “Don’t be afraid to try new things,” she advises. “There’s always room to grow and find your unique voice in the community.” For Jonna, Social Mining is not just about reaching the top but about enjoying the journey, learning continuously, and being part of a supportive community.
