Can you introduce yourself to us and share a bit about your background before you got involved into Blockchain and Social Media content production?
Before I got involved with blockchain, I worked as an Environmental Engineer with 8 years of experience in the field. Then, in October 2019, I began exploring this space.
My journey in blockchain started when I first joined Social Mining at Ferrum Network. From there, I became involved with Avalanche Hub in February 2020, followed by NEM Hub and DAO Maker, where I got the Ninja role, then Orion Hub and several other projects I participated in as a Social Miner from 2019 to 2021.
In 2021, I was recommended as a Community Manager by Nicolas Leimatre from Ava Labs, and I’ve been with Avalanche ever since. Recently, I’ve also returned to Social Mining in RWA Hub.
Oh, and besides my work with Avalanche, I also work as a Backend Specialist Software Engineer at a private company in Indonesia (By the way, I’m a career switcher! Ever since discovering Web3 through my Social Mining experience, I’ve found my true passion in my current career, and I’m happy about it).
You and I come from the very origins of Social Mining. Can you tell us more from those times, for instance your participation in "My Name is Alice" or NEM Hub, maybe? What was your situation back then and how did you get involved?
Wow, those were incredible times and there’s so much to remember!
Back during the Alice campaign in DAO Maker and NEM Hub days, we were literally building everything what Social Mining would become today. We were Pioneers, that's the kind of spirit we lived. Back in those days, organized work for projects was scarce and our joint community experience led to many successful things. And projects´ growth, of course.
I vividly remember working on 'My Name is Alice,' which was a huge learning curve, but also a game-changer in terms of earning and contributing to this space ecosystem.
Of course, the biggest challenge was the learning process for each different project, which took time. But alongside other social miners, we successfully helped Alice set a sales record, and we also played a crucial role in the smooth launch of the Symbol blockchain through NEM HUB.
Looking back, once again, it feels incredible to have been a part of all that.
On the personal side, how has your daily life changed since you started earning through Social Mining? What new opportunities, in your words, has it opened up for you?
I can’t lie about this one—Social Mining has completely transformed my day-to-day life.
It changed my perspective on Blockchain, Crypto, and Web3. Before, I thought this space was only about trading, but everything shifted when I became a Social Miner.
This experience pushed me to make a significant career change, from Environmental Engineer to Community Manager to Developer, something I never imagined would happen in my life.
Building personal branding doesn’t happen overnight. You need to be consistent and resilient. Discipline makes you better.
Every day, I find myself researching, researching, and researching to create the latest content—that's what being a Social Miner means to me.
You mentioned your career change, which many SocMins here must embrace since their countries' economies are not in the best of shape. Let's talk a little about your Country, Indonesia. How impactful do you think Social Mining can be as a source of income for other people over there? What potential does it have for wider economic impact for your fellow countrymen?
In Indonesia, Social Mining holds significant potential, especially as a source of supplementary income. I truly believe in this because I’ve experienced the significant changes it brings.
From my perspective, Social Mining opens up two major opportunities because it creates new job opportunities and improves the quality of human resources by allowing individuals to build a digital portfolio and personal branding while acquiring new skills that might have been unimaginable before.
Based on my personal experience, I learned to create infographics, how to code, and run blockchain nodes—things I never thought I’d be doing during my school or previous career as an Environmental Engineer. In retrospect, this is a remarkable change for me.
Social Mining also provides a new source of income. You get paid for just a good tweet, and the best part is that you don’t have to be an influencer to begin with. All the resources are free and accessible to anyone.
We have witnessed that some SocMins started with a few Twitter followers and after rounds of work became BIG. That's something to look for, as well. Going back to the DAO Labs platforms, we should talk about Avalanche Hub, where you push a great deal of content due your position there.
I´d say that this work opened doors to new networks and collaborations I never thought possible. I´ve met incredible people, masters of Social Mining like Alex, Giuseppe, @nipek, Arthem, Charly, Kristie and other Ninjas who otherwise I wouldn’t dream to find in a chat or a project forum. Through Social Mining I’ve been able to earn independently, which has helped me reach my life goals and pursue projects I’m passionate about.
For instance, since I successfully completed a Solidity bootcamp last year and have built several personal Web3 projects, I’m also preparing an online bootcamp focused on Avalanche technology for the Indonesian community, starting from the basics. The registration form will be launched next week via Avalanche Indonesia.
And, yeah, I will be creating several tasks in Avalanche Hub (for our Indonesian Crowd) for upcoming events towards the Ava1anche 9000 Campaign and I’m planning to host an offline event next week if everything goes smoothly, although I can’t share the details just yet as it’s still being finalized.
It's a great thing that you produce sophisticated content and also keep your tech side running for Avalanche. We salute that, Septian. This audience should see that you have been active in RWA as well. Tell us about that too, please
RWA Inc. is a potential mind blowing milestone in Blockchain, nowadays, and what better place to begin getting involved with it than RWA HUB?
I like the idea of a project focused on tokenizing real-world assets. The goal is to bridge the gap between traditional finance and blockchain by creating a platform that allows real-world assets to be represented and traded as digital tokens. This opens up new opportunities for liquidity, transparency, and accessibility to assets like real estate, commodities, and more.
Recently, I wanted to promote RWA in Social Media and created an infographic that highlights the market opportunity in RWA’s business model, and the utilities of the $RWA token. It's a very forward-thinking project, aiming to bring the benefits of blockchain to industries that haven't fully embraced it yet. If you’re interested, you can join me on RWA Hub and follow their updates on X (Twitter).
Now that we see that you are proving that there's a chance to scale ranks up in Social Mining, Sep, what advice would you give to those new Social Miners who are eager to improve their work?
This is the hardest question for me to answer because I think that I'm still learning a little everyday. So, from my experience, my advice for aspiring Social Miners is to stay consistent and engaged. Focus on building a network, keep learning about the blockchain space, and don’t hesitate to share your ideas with the community. Collaboration is key in this industry.
Every day, I find myself researching, researching, and researching to create the latest content—that's what being a Social Miner means to me.
I´d tell them to never be afraid to start. Just try and take it as a new experience and then evaluate it. If you're not used to tweeting, do it daily and express yourself in your own style.
Moreover, you should prioritize quality over quantity. This is why you should read, read, and read a lot more. It is so crucial to understand this technology that you want to embrace as a community.
Building personal branding doesn’t happen overnight. You need to be consistent and resilient. Discipline makes you better. Never give up and never regret if your points on any HUB don’t meet your expectations. Validators always evaluate you and compare your work with others´, so it’s up to you to produce better content in future.
And, maybe the most important thing I should recommend is to not focus solely on income at the beginning because this is not a free airdrop, actually. Instead, chase experience and knowledge because the more you grow in these areas the better work you will produce and your income will eventually become better.
