Meet Carl Jason Lavilla, known as @crljsn in the DAO Labs community. His story begins with his entry into the SSMM competition, initially driven by boredom but soon discovering a passion that would propel him to the semifinals. This competition, introduced to him by @azra1eL, one of local Pinoy admins, has been a significant milestone in Carl’s Social Mining career.

“As a student who initially joined the competition because of boredom and didn’t expect to make it to the semifinals, my journey in the Super Smash Miner Melee has been surprisingly rewarding,” Being a semifinalist is a great honour and shows that my efforts in the Social Mining community have paid off.’’ Carl shares. 

His efforts were not in vain, as he continuously pushed himself to explore new ideas and strategies, ultimately proving his mettle in the Social Mining community.

“I focused on creating visually engaging content and ensuring the information was valuable. I emphasised making my visuals clear and informative, which helped me attract attention,” Carl explains. 

Sharing his posts on platforms like X and Telegram also significantly boosted engagement, demonstrating his keen understanding of leveraging social media to his advantage.

“Based on my experience, I'd advise focusing on quality and creativity in your contributions. This approach not only shows your dedication but also boosts your chances of excelling in competitions like the Super Smash Miner Melee and the 10 Hero Tasks!” Carl suggests.

Reflecting on his journey, Carl is particularly proud of his work on the "Telegram sticker set" and the article "Unlocking the Power of Social Mining." These tasks allowed him to blend creativity with clear communication, and their success reinforced the importance of engagement and quality content in Social Mining.

Looking ahead, Carl believes that kids like him can bring fresh and fun ideas to Social Mining. 

“We think outside the box, are quick to learn new technology, and can connect with other kids in a real and exciting way. Our playful and creative approach can make community activities more engaging and enjoyable for everyone,” he says.
