Another one of the community’s most dedicated contributors in Social Mining, from Nigeria. A creator whose journey from token trading to trusted educator is a proof to the power of consistency, curiosity, and creativity in Web3.

In a Social Miner of the Hour feature, he opens up about his beginnings, breakthroughs, and what drives him to keep building in the world of decentralized innovation.

It All Started With a Little ETH…

Like many of us, Joseph or also known in the community, @Josef_zich, his Web3 journey began with curiosity, and a bit of hype.

‍ “I am a content creator and a digital marketer with a big passion for web3. I bought my first ETH back in 2020,” he recalls with a laugh. “Didn’t hold for long, sold when I made peanut profits. 😅”

From there, he dabbled in airdrops, traded tokens, and soaked in the chaos and creativity of early crypto communities. 

 “Also took up roles like Moderator and Community management helping to host activities and organize discord servers. I did this until 2023.”

But it wasn’t until the NFT boom in early 2022 that Josef fully immersed himself, grinding for whitelists, joining Discord servers, and even stepping up himself. Then came a pivotal shift.

Discovering Social Mining

Josef’s real breakthrough came when his good friend Usoro Emmanuel introduced him to Social Mining. What started with content creation for WAX Hub quickly turned into something much bigger.

“I discovered Social Mining back in 2023, I was introduced to social mining by my very good friend Usoro Emmanuel, a very good friend I made in Web 3.” Josef shares. 

That early collaboration set the stage for a creative evolution, one that would eventually lead to a defining moment.

The Tutorial That Changed Everything

Among Josef’s many achievements, one stands out, his WAX tutorial video, now used as the official onboarding resource for new users.

“I honestly felt flattered for my video to have been selected as the onboarding video. It’s one of my major wins in Web 3. It feels good to

know that you’re making an impact, and also knowing that you are driving adoption. When I created the WAX tutorial video, my main goal was to simplify onboarding for new users who might feel overwhelmed by blockchain concepts. 

I remember how confusing things were when I first got into Web3, so I wanted to break things down in a way that felt approachable, visual, and step-by-step.”

His focus on clarity, pacing, and real-world use cases struck a chord. And soon, Josef’s name became synonymous with educational content that actually helps.

More Than Just Recognition

While the impact of his work is undeniable, Josef is clear about his motivations.

“Earning the WAX Gold badge was definitely a proud moment for me, I won’t say recognition was the main goal, although it pushed me. 

What truly drives me is the passion I have for creating content and also looking forward to the feedback from the validators. When I get a task done, and get positive feedback, it’s such a big push for me to do more.

I created the contents because I genuinely enjoy simplifying ideas, helping people understand, promoting projects, and showing them the value of projects and the events a project is having. The Gold badge is just a recognition which I am proud of. For me, it's always been about adding real value.” he shares

For Josef, content is more than visuals or words, it’s about solving problems and sparking engagement.

Advice for Rising Creators

Josef’s message to emerging Social Miners? Lead with value.

“Don’t just create to create,” he advises. “Know what you’re trying to achieve, are you educating, promoting, informing? Consistency and intentionality are everything.”

He also emphasizes audience understanding and community collaboration. “Web3 has many tribes, tailor your content accordingly. And don’t underestimate the power of feedback and proof of work speaks louder than anything. Showyour journey, and always do your research well enough before starting out with your content.”

What's Next for Josef?

Josef closes with a heartfelt message to the DAO Labs team and the wider Social Mining community, expressing deep gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead.

“In the next 2–3 years, I see myself fitting into this shift by building a strong, engaged community and consistently producing high-quality, entertaining, and educational video content.”

Beyond content creation, Josef has his eyes set on bigger goals:

“I also aim to collaborate with key projects, protocols, and industry leaders to amplify Web3 adoption and help more people understand the value of decentralization.”

With a spirit of humility and hope, he adds:
